Pawn structures
Know the pawn map. Understand the plans. Study how strong players make those plans work.
A curated foundation of 20 important structure families, not a universal ranking or a claim to contain every chess idea. Plans are conditional: verify king safety, piece placement, move order and concrete tactics in the actual position. White and Black refer to the illustrative diagram; reverse the roles when the structure appears with colors reversed. Pawn-only diagrams are teaching maps, not legal game positions. Explanations and study questions are original GolgiChess synthesis; cited articles support selected themes, and explicitly labeled course overviews link to further study rather than reproduce paid lessons or annotations.
